Joe Craig Doyle, Owner. dba Iron and Stone
Joe Craig Doyle was born in New Mexico in 1957 and has lived here all of his life. The family tradition of the initials "J.C." were originally the cattle brand of his mother's family. He now uses these initials to sign his copyright steel creations.
Joe grew up strongly influced by southwestern art. His father taught art with Albuquerque Public Schools for 25 years and when Joe's father retired, he started a business in wood design. Joe's interest in metal began when he started making jewelry as a teenager, which lead him into the ironworker's field.Joe felt he was being stifled in his creative talents and that's when Iron and Stone was established. Joe started out by making lizards, frogs, and hummingbirds, which are still being sold today in Old Town at the Indoor Mercado. Since then, Iron and Stone has flourished into custom designing throughout New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and as far East as New York.
